The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Executive Committee will hold a high-stakes meeting on Saturday, July 5, 2025, in Rabat, Morocco, with CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe set to chair the pivotal session.
Scheduled for 10:30AM local time, the meeting will take place at the headquarters of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and will address several key issues expected to shape the future of African football.
A major item on the agenda is the presentation of a $1 billion commercial rights tender, seen as a critical step toward strengthening the financial foundation of CAF’s competitions. The committee will also receive updates on the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Morocco 2024, which will run from July 5 to July 26, 2025. The tournament, to be hosted across six stadiums in five cities, is projected to break attendance records and draw significant global viewership.

Rabat’s selection as the venue underscores Morocco’s growing influence in African football. The country will host the highly anticipated TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026. Six Moroccan cities, Rabat, Casablanca, Agadir, Marrakech, Fes, and Tangier will host matches across nine stadiums, with the FRMF playing a central role in tournament preparations.
