Turkey National team coach Vincenzo Montella believes Juventus would gain a significant advantage if Victor Osimhen is not fully fit for Wednesday’s decisive UEFA Champions League play-off second leg.
Osimhen has been the central talking point ahead of the meeting in Turin after missing Galatasaray’s weekend league defeat to Konyaspor with knee discomfort.
The Nigeria forward returned to training earlier this week and is expected to feature, although Montella suggested his absence would tilt the balance towards the Italian side.
“He is more of an emotional leader than a technical leader for Galatasaray,” Montella told Italian media.
“He shifts the balance significantly; he is a player who changes the very face of the team. If Galatasaray cannot play him, it will undoubtedly be a massive advantage for Juve.”

Galatasaray hold a commanding 5-2 lead from the first leg in Istanbul, where Osimhen provided two assists and won 75% of his aerial duels despite not scoring.
Juventus must overturn a three-goal deficit to progress, a task made more difficult if Osimhen leads the line.

The 27-year-old has scored six goals in seven Champions League matches this season and remains Nigeria’s most prolific player in the competition’s history.
