Trabzonspor defender Chibuike Nwaiwu scored twice early in the second half to secure a 3-1 Super Lig victory over Fatih Karagumruk and maintain his side’s push near the top of the table.
The hosts started brightly at Papara Park and went ahead in the 20th minute when Paul Onuachu continued his prolific form.
The Nigerian striker powered in a header from Ozan Tufan’s cross to register his 18th league goal of the campaign, a tally that keeps him as the Süper Lig’s leading scorer.

Karagumruk responded eight minutes later through Daniele Verde, whose composed finish brought the visitors level before the break despite sustained Trabzonspor pressure.

The match swung decisively after half-time. Nwaiwu, a January arrival from Wolfsberger AC, showcased his aerial prowess by heading Trabzonspor back in front five minutes into the second period.

Moments later, the 22-year-old repeated the feat, rising highest to convert again with Onuachu involved in the attacking phase to complete a quickfire brace that ultimately settled the contest.

Trabzonspor comfortably managed the closing stages to record a victory that leaves them third in the standings on 51 points.
