Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially rescheduled the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which will now take place from 25 July to 16 August 2026.
The tournament, which will be hosted by Morocco, was initially scheduled to be played between 17 March and 3 April 2026.
According to CAF, the decision was taken after discussions with FIFA and other stakeholders to ensure the success of the competition in light of “certain unforeseen circumstances.”
CAF also confirmed that preparations for the continental women’s tournament are already underway and all parties involved remain confident the event will be a success.
Morocco was awarded the hosting rights for the 2026 edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in October 2024.
