Ahmed Musa to lead Super Eagles at Unity Cup showdown in London

Kano Pillars have officially confirmed that their captain and Nigerian football icon, Ahmed Musa, has received a call-up to the Super Eagles squad for the highly anticipated Unity Cup 4-Nations Tournament set to take place in London later this month.

The announcement came via the club’s official X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday, where the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side congratulated their star forward on the selection.

“Captain Ahmed Musa is set to lead the Super Eagles at the Unity Cup 4-Nations Tourney from May 26–31, 2025, at Brentford Stadium, London.

The Unity Cup, which returns with a strong pan-African and Caribbean flair, will feature Nigeria, Ghana, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago, promising an exciting week of football and fierce regional rivalries.

The Super Eagles will open their campaign in a classic grudge match against Ghana’s Black Stars on Tuesday, 27 May, at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford.

Musa, who has had a resurgence in form during the current NPFL25 season, has scored eight goals and provided two assists for Kano Pillars, helping push the team into title contention and once again proving his enduring quality on the pitch.

The 31-year-old forward brings a wealth of experience to the squad, with over 100 international caps, World Cup goals, and a reputation as one of Nigeria’s most dependable captains.
