Speaking yesterday at the opening ceremony of the 22nd National Sports Festival in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Mr. Agha Mba delivered a passionate address that underscored the state’s vision for youth empowerment, athletic excellence, and sustainable development.
“We are not waiting for the future — we are building it from the ground up,” he said.
“Under Governor Soludo’s dynamic leadership, Anambra is investing deliberately in our young people — not just as athletes, but as leaders and nation-builders.
What we are witnessing is the emergence of a new model for youth development in Nigeria.”
He described the Solution Agenda as a transformative platform that is driving innovation in sports, creating opportunities at the grassroots, and restoring pride in state representation.

Mr. Agha Mba reaffirmed Anambra’s determination to deliver an outstanding performance at the Gateway Games 2025, noting that the team is “well-prepared, highly motivated, and driven by the vision of a government that sees sports as a vital tool for unity, identity, and progress.”
He commended Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for their leadership in organising a successful opening to the Games, calling the event “a celebration of Nigeria’s diversity, potential, and resilience.”
Addressing Ndi Anambra, he encouraged the people to remain confident and supportive, assuring them that the state’s contingent would make them proud.

“Our athletes are more than ready. The government has put everything in place to ensure they are equipped, inspired, and determined to surpass their previous records,” he stated.
Mr. Agha Mba also hinted at expanded initiatives coming from his ministry in partnership with local and international stakeholders all aimed at unlocking the talents of Anambra’s youth and positioning the state as a hub for sporting excellence and innovation.
“As Commissioner, it is an honour to be part of a government that doesn’t just talk about youth development, but delivers it. With Governor Soludo, we are witnessing the construction of a legacy that will empower generations,” he concluded.
