Super Eagles and Sevilla winger Chidera Ejuke remains optimistic about his team’s chances of securing a European qualification spot despite a turbulent season in La Liga.
The 27-year-old joined Sevilla last summer on a free transfer but has endured a challenging spell at the club, struggling with injuries and inconsistency.
Sevilla, currently sitting 10th in the league table, has failed to build momentum, but Ejuke believes a late push for a top finish is still within reach.
Speaking to The Hill of Nervion, the Nigerian emphasized the importance of focus and consistency as Sevilla fights for a European place.
“I think anything is possible, but obviously we have to be focused and try to win more games because it’s been a while since we’ve won two in a row, The most important thing now is to focus on achieving that, but, of course, I think anything is possible. Still, the best thing is to take it one game at a time.” Ejuke said.

The speed demon also dismissed the idea that Sevilla is lacking anything significant, instead stressing the need for maximum effort from the players.
“I don’t really think anything is missing. I just think the most important thing is that we have to give our best when we go out there, to be focused, because obviously, it’s not easy.”
“It’s a game of football. Everyone wants to win, but we just want to give our best, go out there and give it our all, hoping for the best,” he added.

Despite his ambitions with Sevilla, Ejuke was not included in the Super Eagles’ 23-man squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe. However, the winger has thrown his support behind the Nigerian team, urging them to give their all in pursuit of qualification.
