Arsenal renew interest in Victor Osimhen as Benjamin Sesko deal stalls

Al-Hilal are reportedly preparing a substantial offer for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who remains open to a move to the Saudi Pro League

Arsenal’s pursuit of Benjamin Sesko is hitting a roadblock, and the Gunners may have to look elsewhere for a top centre-forward.

According to reports, Arsenal is struggling to agree on a deal with RB Leipzig, who are demanding a €100m price tag for the Slovenian star. The club has also not yet agreed on personal terms with Sesko, putting the potential deal in jeopardy.

With the Sesko deal stalling, Arsenal are reportedly turning to Victor Osimhen as a potential alternative. The Super Eagles star is currently available in the transfer market and has a €75m release clause in his contract at Napoli. However, the Neapolitans might be willing to sell at a lower price if Arsenal makes a compelling offer.

A move to Arsenal would appeal to Osimhen, who has already turned down a mega offer from Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal. The 26-year-old striker wants to continue his career in top European leagues and has expressed his desire to play for a club competing in the Champions League.

If Arsenal decides to pursue Osimhen, it could be a shrewd move. The striker’s impressive form on loan at Galatasaray last season, where he scored 37 goals, demonstrates his ability to make an impact in a top European league. With his release clause and potential willingness to join Arsenal, Osimhen could be a viable option for the Gunners.

However, Arsenal would not be the only club interested in Osimhen’s services. Other top clubs have been linked to the striker, and Napoli may be looking to maximize their return on investment. The Gunners would need to make a strong case for Osimhen to choose them over other potential suitors.
