The Super Falcons, Nigeria’s women’s national football team, have announced their 24-player squad for the 13th edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco with talented striker Asisat Oshoala who has been absent from the squad for a while returning to the team.
The team is led by coach Justine Madugu and features a mix of experienced players and emerging stars.
The squad also features some of the country’s top players, such as captain Rasheedat Ajibade, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, and experienced forwards Francisca Ordega and Asisat Oshoala.
Oshoala, a six-time African Player of the Year, has returned to the squad after a brief absence.
The Super Falcons’ squad for WAFCON 2025 includes goalkeepers Chiamaka Nnadozie, Tochukwu Oluehi, and Rachael Unachukwu.
The defenders include Osinachi Ohale, Shukurat Oladipo, Michelle Alozie, Ashleigh Plumptre, Sikiratu Isah, Oluwatosin Demehin, and Miracle Usani.

The midfielders include Rasheedat Ajibade, Halimatu Ayinde, Deborah Abiodun, Jennifer Echegini, Toni Payne, and Christy Ucheibe.

Asisat Oshoala has won the women African best player award for a record 6 times
The forwards include Francisca Ordega, Asisat Oshoala, Chinwendu Ihezuo, Ifeoma Onumonu, Esther Okoronkwo, Omorinsola Babajide, Folashade Ijamilusi, and Chioma Okafor.
The team will play two friendly matches before the tournament, against Portugal on June 23 in Lisbon and Ghana’s Black Queens on June 29 in Morocco.
These fixtures will help the team fine-tune their skills and prepare for the challenges ahead.
The 13th edition of WAFCON will take place in Morocco from July 5 to 26. The Super Falcons are in Group B, facing Tunisia, Botswana, and Algeria at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca.
