Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi has broken his silence on the potential transfer of Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman to Inter Milan.
Speaking to Football Italia recently, Percassi clarified the situation surrounding Lookman’s transfer request, revealing that the player had asked to leave the club last summer after a €20 million offer from Paris Saint-Germain.
According to Percassi, Atalanta promised to consider selling Lookman in the current transfer window based on two conditions: that he would only leave for a top European club, and that he would not join another Italian side out of respect for Atalanta’s faith in him.

Percassi emphasised that the final decision remains in the club’s hands, despite renewed talks between Atalanta and Inter Milan.
The situation has taken a new turn with reports emerging that Inter Milan and Atalanta have reopened negotiations with optimism, and Lookman has already agreed on personal terms with the Nerazzurri.
The Nigerian international is said to be holding the club to their word and pushing for a move to San Siro.

Percassi’s statement suggests that Atalanta will not be pressured into a sale unless their conditions are met. The club’s stance on Lookman’s transfer has sparked interest in the player’s future, with many wondering whether he will make the move to Inter Milan or stay with Atalanta.

Lookman’s statement earlier this week claimed that he had been unfairly treated by the club, but Percassi’s response provides a different perspective on the situation.
The situation is further complicated by the fact that Lookman has already agreed on personal terms with Inter Milan, which suggests that he is keen on making the move. However, Atalanta’s conditions for selling the player may prove to be a stumbling block in the negotiations.
