Barau FC in turmoil: Club labels its own statement on Bosso exit as ‘Fake News’

Barau FC have come under criticism after retracting their earlier announcement confirming Ladan Bosso’s exit, calling the report “fake news.”

The club had initially posted on its verified social media platforms that Bosso had stepped aside, before deleting the message and insisting he remains in charge.

Club president Shawal Barau Jibrin later clarified that Bosso is still Technical Adviser, while Ibrahim Tata continues as Chief Coach 1, urging fans to disregard all “false information.”

Confusion deepens in Barau FC as the club denies its own statement about the resignation of Ladan Bosso, sparking criticism.

The about-turn, however, has sparked confusion among supporters and observers, who question the club’s communication credibility.

The former Bayelsa United boss, who joined the newly promoted NPFL side two months ago, has so far managed one win, two draws, and four losses in seven matches, leaving Barau FC bottom of the table with five points.

In a statement signed by the NPFL Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi, the league stated that only referees’ council members, state FA officials, accredited media, and security personnel will be allowed into the stadium.

A total of 120 persons will be permitted inside the match venue, with no fans or unauthorized individuals admitted.

The NPFL Secretariat will also deploy two officials for Barau FC’s upcoming home games to monitor security and organizational compliance.
