Spanish powerhouse Barcelona is intensifying its pursuit of Super Eagles and Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman.
The 27-year-old attacker has become a sought-after name in the transfer market following his sensational hat-trick against Bayer 04 Leverkusen in May 2024.
His stock soared even higher after being crowned the Best African Player of the Year.
According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, the five-time UEFA Champions League winners are scouting Lookman as they search for a versatile forward ahead of the summer transfer window.
Barcelona lacks a natural left-sided attacker, forcing Raphinha to play out of position on the left wing despite his strong performances.

This has put Lookman firmly on their radar, with Atalanta reportedly demanding €50 million for the Nigerian star.

With doubts over the long-term futures of Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres, Barcelona is considering Lookman alongside Liverpool’s Luis Diaz. The sale of Fati and Torres could generate the funds needed to secure one of these attacking options.
However, Barcelona faces stiff competition from Atletico Madrid, who view Lookman as an ideal successor to Antoine Griezmann. Diego Simeone’s side is reportedly ready to battle for the Nigerian international if Barcelona makes a formal bid.

Lookman’s current contract with Atalanta runs until the summer of 2026, but no renewal talks have taken place, signaling a possible departure.
The former Everton forward has been in stellar form, netting 18 goals and providing six assists across all competitions under Gian Piero Gasperini this season.
