Bendel Insurance Football Club have confirmed the appointment of Coach Kennedy Boboye as the club’s new Technical Manager.
The appointment was approved by the club’s management following a mutual agreement for Boboye to take full charge of the team’s technical department with immediate effect.
After a thorough evaluation, the Benin Arsenals found the former Plateau United and Akwa United coach suitable for the role, offering him a two-year contract based on his proven record and vast experience in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The 50-year-old tactician coached Akwa United midway through last season after parting ways with Sunshine Stars, where he resigned over alleged interference.

His second stint in Uyo, however, ended in relegation despite managing seven wins, three draws, and eight losses in 18 matches.
Boboye remains one of Nigeria’s most respected domestic coaches, having guided Plateau United to their first-ever league title in 2017, and later leading Akwa United to their maiden NPFL crown in 2021.
The official unveiling of the Delta-born coach will take place in Benin City on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
