Sergen Yalcın has claimed that Victor Osimhen should have been sent off during Besiktas’s heated derby clash with Galatasaray on Saturday.
Galatasaray travelled to the Tupras Stadium for one of the most intense fixtures in Turkish football and emerged with a 1–0 victory, thanks to Osimhen’s first-half header.
The Nigeria international scored the decisive goal in the 39th minute, meeting a cross from Leroy Sane to hand the visitors the advantage.
Besiktas were handed a potential route back into the contest in the second half when Sane was dismissed for a second bookable offence, leaving Galatasaray to finish the match with ten men.

However, the hosts failed to capitalise on their numerical advantage as Galatasaray held on to secure the win. The result left Beşiktaş with 46 points from 25 matches, dealing a blow to their hopes of qualifying for European competition.

Speaking after the match, Yalçın criticised the officiating and insisted Osimhen should have received a second yellow card.
“This level of politics is almost laughable. The Beşiktaş community is watching; it shouldn’t be like this,” he said.

“The referee was constantly waving his hands, claiming nothing was wrong. He was literally turning his head away to avoid seeing Osimhen’s second yellow. These occurrences don’t seem normal to me anymore.”
