Birmingham City Football Club is reportedly in advanced discussions with Nigerian international Bright Osayi-Samuel, who is set to become a free agent after his contract with Fenerbahce expires on June 30. The Blues are looking to capitalize on Osayi-Samuel’s move to Besiktas falling through and are confident of signing the 27-year-old right-back.
Osayi-Samuel is a versatile player who can operate as both a right-back and a winger, bringing top-level experience to Birmingham City’s squad. With 178 appearances under his belt, including 39 games under Jose Mourinho last season, he would be a significant addition to the team. His experience in European competitions and Turkey’s top flight would be valuable assets for the Blues.
Birmingham City is looking to be immediately competitive in the Championship after their recent League One triumph. With Chris Davies at the helm, the club is aiming for promotion to the Premier League next season. Signing Osayi-Samuel would be a major statement of intent, especially with Championship rivals and top-tier clubs previously showing interest.
