President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has conferred national honours on Nigeria’s Super Falcons following their historic WAFCON 2024 triumph, awarding each player the title of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).
The President made the announcement at a grand reception at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Sunday evening in celebration of their record 10th continental title.

In addition to the national honours, each of the 24 players will receive a three-bedroom apartment at the Renewed Hope Estate in Abuja, alongside a cash reward of $100,000 per player.
Members of the technical and backroom staff were also recognised, each receiving $50,000 in appreciation for their contributions to the team’s unbeaten run in the tournament.

The announcement drew rapturous applause at the State House, as Tinubu praised the squad for “inspiring a new generation of Nigerian girls” with their resilience, unity, and sporting excellence.

The Governors forum also donated 10 million naira each to the 24 players for a job well done.
