The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially announced the fixtures for the rescheduled 2024 TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which will now be held in Morocco from July 5 to 26, 2025.
Nigeria’s Super Falcons, the most successful team in the tournament’s history, will begin their quest for a record-extending 10th title on Sunday, July 6, against Tunisia at Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca (17:00 local time / 16:00 GMT).
Under coach Justine Madugu, the Falcons will remain in Casablanca for the entire group stage, facing Botswana on July 10 before wrapping up against Algeria on July 13—a match that could decide their knockout fate.

The competition will officially kick off on July 5 when hosts Morocco take on Zambia at the newly built Olympic Stadium in Rabat (21:00 local time).
The knockout phase begins with the quarterfinals on July 18-19, followed by the semifinals on July 22. The third-place playoff and final will take place on July 25 and 26, respectively, with the championship decider set for Rabat’s Olympic Stadium.
Ahead of the tournament, Nigeria will fine-tune their squad in a two-legged friendly against rivals Cameroon—first at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo (this Saturday) and then at MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta (next Tuesday).
Additionally, the Falcons will face Portugal in a high-profile friendly on June 23, providing crucial preparation against a top European side.
The Super Falcons remain Africa’s most decorated women’s team, with nine WAFCON titles, including their last triumph in 2018 after a hard-fought victory over South Africa.

Beyond continental success, Nigeria holds the distinction of being the only African women’s team to reach the quarterfinals of both the FIFA Women’s World Cup and the Olympics. They are also the sole African nation to have qualified for every Women’s World Cup since its inception—a testament to their enduring excellence.
With a mix of experienced stars and emerging talents, the Falcons will aim to reclaim their continental crown and solidify their legacy as Africa’s undisputed queens of women’s football.
