The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has ushered in a new era of leadership with the appointment of five new Vice Presidents at its Executive Committee meeting held in Accra, Ghana, on Saturday.
This move is part of a broader effort to bring fresh perspectives and stronger governance to African football.
CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe chaired the meeting and announced the newly elected Vice Presidents. Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa of Morocco will serve as CAF First Vice President, while Mr. Kurt Okraku of Ghana has been appointed CAF Second Vice President.
Mr. Pierre-Alain Mounguengui of Gabon will take on the role of CAF Third Vice President, and Ms. Bestine Kazadi Ditabala of the Democratic Republic of Congo has been named CAF Fourth Vice President. Finally, Mr. Feizal Sidat of Mozambique will serve as CAF Fifth Vice President.
In addition to the Vice Presidents, Dr. Motsepe announced that Mr. Yacine Idriss Diallo, President of the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF), has been co-opted to the CAF Executive Committee, further strengthening the continent’s football governance.

The CAF Executive Committee also approved appointments for vacant positions across several key CAF committees.
Mr. Pierre-Alain Mounguengui will serve as the President of the Organizing Committee for the African Nations Championship (CHAN), while Samuel Eto’o of Cameroon has been named President of the CAF Technical and Development Committee, with Mr. Malouche Belhassen of Tunisia as his Vice President.
The CAF Medical Committee will be led by Dr. Mohammed Bouya of Mauritania as President, and Dr. Thulani Ngwenya of South Africa as Vice President.

Dr. Motsepe expressed gratitude to the outgoing Vice Presidents for their significant contributions during their tenure, acknowledging their leadership in the ongoing development of African football.
