CHAN 2025: Chelle unveils final Super Eagles B squad as team heads to Zanzibar

Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle has named his final 23-man Super Eagles B squad for the 8th African Nations Championship (CHAN), featuring experienced names like Junior Harrison Nduka, Godwin Obaje, and Sikiru Alimi.

The tournament, which will take place across Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda from 2nd to 30th August, is reserved for players who feature in their domestic leagues.

The Super Eagles B team is scheduled to fly out of Nigeria to Zanzibar on Thursday night aboard an Ethiopian Airlines flight, after concluding several weeks of intensive training at the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne, Ogun State.

A second-phase training camp has been arranged by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in Zanzibar from 25th to 31st July, with two friendly matches lined up against the Zanzibar national team on 28th and 31st July.

Nigeria, silver medallists in 2018 and bronze medallists in 2014, have been drawn in Group D of the 19-team tournament alongside defending champions Senegal, Sudan, and Congo.

Their first two matches, against Senegal and Sudan, will be held at the Amman Stadium in Zanzibar, before wrapping up the group stage with a clash against Congo at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
