Galatasaray are in advanced talks to re-sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli in a deal worth €75 million but negotiations remain ongoing over the structure of the payment.

The Turkish champions have matched the value of Osimhen’s release clause, but have not triggered it, instead proposing to spread the fee across five annual instalments.

Napoli, however, are yet to accept the payment terms, with discussions continuing this week.

Osimhen, 26, has informed Napoli of his desire to return to Istanbul and is keen to see the deal finalised “as soon as possible.”

The Nigerian striker already has a contract with Galatasaray agreed in principle until June 2028, with an option for an additional year.

The Super Eagles forward previously enjoyed a prolific loan spell at Galatasaray, scoring 37 goals and registering eight assists in 41 appearances during a trophy-laden season in which Gala claimed a domestic double.

He is said to be fully convinced by the club’s long-term project and Champions League ambition, and has made his intention to return clear to both parties.

Payment Plan a Sticking Point

While the €75 million offer matches Osimhen’s release clause, Galatasaray’s proposal to pay in instalments over five years has become a key issue.

Napoli have so far resisted agreeing to the terms, preferring a more immediate or upfront payment structure.

Sources close to the Italian club say a final decision has not yet been made, though all sides remain in communication.

Should the clubs reach a breakthrough, Osimhen’s return would unlock several other moves in the market.

Morata Exit Hinges on Osimhen Arrival

Galatasaray’s move for Osimhen is also closely linked to Álvaro Morata’s potential transfer to Serie A newcomers Como.

Gala have informed AC Milan, who currently hold Morata’s rights, that they will only terminate the striker’s loan once a replacement is secured.

If Osimhen’s deal is finalised, Morata is expected to complete a switch to Como, where he would reunite with former teammate Cesc Fàbregas, now on the club’s coaching staff.

What’s Next?

Negotiations are expected to continue this week, with Galatasaray optimistic of reaching a compromise with Napoli over the payment structure.

If successful, Osimhen would become the Turkish side’s marquee signing of the summer and return as a fan favourite ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
