Zamalek SC has announced the immediate termination of former Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro’s contract as the team’s head coach. The Portuguese coach’s tenure lasted a mere 82 days, during which he managed 17 matches, securing 7 wins, 8 draws, and 2 losses.
Peseiro’s time at Zamalek was marked by inconsistencies and a lack of cohesion. Despite his impressive resume, which includes stints with several top-tier teams, including the Nigerian national team, Peseiro struggled to make an impact at the Egyptian club. The team’s performance in the CAF Confederation Cup was particularly underwhelming, and their elimination from the competition was a significant blow.
The decision to part ways with Peseiro was likely influenced by the team’s poor performance in the league and cup competitions.

Zamalek currently occupies the third spot in the Egyptian league with 40 points, far from the top-of-the-table dominance expected by the club’s fans. The team’s inability to defend their CAF Confederation Cup title was a significant disappointment, and Peseiro’s tactics and player selection came under intense scrutiny.
