Enyimba head coach Stanley Eguma says his target for the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League season is to win the title or, at the very least, secure a continental ticket.

Eguma took over midway through last season with the club sitting in 11th and guided them to a sixth-place finish, but insists that’s not enough for a club of Enyimba’s pedigree.

“Enyimba as a team have a target, and as a coach an ambitious one at that I equally have a target,” he said. “And my target should be to win the league or pick a continental ticket, at worst.”

Eguma, a two-time NPFL champion with Rivers United, also helped Enyimba retain their CAF Champions League title as part of the club’s backroom staff in 2004.

“Having achieved that in the past, I think I should be looking at something that will surpass my achievement. That is what the club is also looking to achieve.”

The former Dolphins boss emphasised that the club’s expectations match his own ambition.

“Before the management will set a target for me, I’ve already set one for myself, because I’m very ambitious, and I feel I have a lot to offer.”

Eguma knows what it takes to win the NPFL after leading Rivers United to their first ever title.

He was also part of Enyimba’s technical crew as an assistant to Okey Emordi when the club retained the CAF Champions League in 2004.
