Enyimba have dismissed head coach Stanley Eguma after a string of poor results in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The club’s board took the decision following an emergency meeting on Sunday, only hours after a shock home defeat to Wikki Tourist on Matchday 13 in Aba.
Eguma, who joined the two-time African champions midway through last season, leaves with his assistants Ndubuisi Nduka and Joseph Boma, who have also been told to step aside.
The NPFL-winning gaffer, who previously led Rivers United, managed the People’s Elephant for the last eight games, securing just one win, three draws, and suffering four defeats, including two embarrassing home losses.
Enyimba said the decision takes immediate effect as part of a wider review of the team’s performances.
Assistant coach Lawrence Ukaegbu has been placed in temporary charge and will lead preparations for next weekend’s Matchday 14 fixture against Katsina United in Jos.
