Former Super Eagles and Real Sociedad midfielder Mutiu Adepoju has shared his thoughts on the ongoing transfer saga surrounding Napoli forward Victor Osimhen.
26-year-old Osimhen has been linked with an exit from the Serie A champions, with several European clubs reportedly interested in signing him.
Adepoju advised Osimhen to take his time and carefully consider his options before making a decision about his future.
“I don’t feel like the concerns we all express are bad, but it comes off as a bit unnecessary at times,” Adepoju said. “Victor Osimhen is a star, and his quality is there for all to see. I doubt that there’s a club in the world where he won’t fit in or deliver; he has shown that consistently.”

Adepoju’s comments come after Osimhen declined two bumper deals from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.
The striker’s decision reflects his desire to play among the elite in Europe, and Galatasaray may not be a suitable option for him in terms of competing in the UEFA Champions League.
Osimhen’s loan spell at Galatasaray was successful, scoring 37 goals and providing eight assists as the club won the Turkish Super Lig and League cup titles.

However, Adepoju believes that Osimhen should be left to make his own decision about his future.

“Personally, I’d say let’s leave him to his choice, and when the right offer for him comes, only he will decide that,” Adepoju said. “We only have to support him as our national team hero.”
The transfer window remains open and Osimhen’s future will be closely monitored. Will he stay at Napoli or make a move to a new club? Only time will tell.
