Rangers International finally got their revenge against Kano Pillars, knocking them out of the 2025 President Federation Cup with a 1-0 victory at the Bwari Township Stadium, Abuja.
Having suffered two painful league defeats to Pillars earlier this season—a 4-3 loss in Enugu inspired by Ahmed Musa and a 2-1 defeat in Kano—the Flying Antelopes turned the tide, sealing their place in the Round of 32 and ending Pillars’ cup journey.
Chidozie Okorie continued his fine form, scoring the match-winner in the 65th minute after a well-placed assist from Maduforo. The forward, who was also on target in Rangers’ Matchday 29 NPFL win over Kwara United, delivered when it mattered most.

Rangers had threatened earlier, with Okorie testing the goalkeeper in the 39th minute, while Maduforo nearly doubled the lead in the 79th minute, only to be denied by a brilliant save.

Kano Pillars had their moments but failed to capitalize. Rabiu Ali’s 33rd-minute free kick rattled the crossbar, while Rangers’ Evans narrowly missed the target with a long-range shot in the 16th minute.

Despite late pressure, Pillars couldn’t find an equalizer, suffering elimination in a frustrating evening for Coach Yaro Yaro’s men.
