The next generation of Enugu Rangers Football Club is set to compete on one of the youth football’s brightest stages — the Bayern Munich U-16 Tournament, which kicks off Friday, 20 June 2025, at the Intel Playing Pitch in Oshodi, Lagos.
With twelve teams competing in a fast-paced league format, and five group games scheduled on the opening day, the young Flying Antelopes are bracing for what promises to be a gruelling but thrilling day of football.
Coach Felix Nwosu has exuded confidence ahead of the competition, declaring his team “ready and willing to give their best.”
“Everyone is ready and willing to give their best to represent our badge,” Nwosu told Rangers media.
“The atmosphere is great, the tournament is very well organised, and every coach and player has been properly kitted by Bayern. It’s impressive.”

The competition is structured into two groups of six teams each, with the top two from each group advancing to the semi-finals. Group A winners will face Group B runners-up, and vice versa, in a straight knockout round.

Among the standout talents is Onah Chinedu, the team’s captain and leading scorer, who has netted 26 goals since September.
The flying winger is expected to be central to Rangers’ attacking efforts.
Also attracting attention is Iwuchukwu Kingsley Chukwuemeka, recently returned from a stint in Finland. His international experience could prove invaluable as the matches intensify.
