Confederation of African Football (CAF) is making a bold move to ensure Africa’s top clubs are fully equipped for success at the historic FIFA Club World Cup.
As the tournament expands to 32 teams for the first time, CAF has allocated $2 million to each of the four African clubs participating: Al Ahly (Egypt), Wydad Casablanca (Morocco), Espérance de Tunis (Tunisia), and Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa).
This major financial injection is set to be a game-changer, allowing clubs to strengthen their squads, secure top-tier player acquisitions, and improve their technical and tactical preparations ahead of the competition.
With an expanded and more competitive format, CAF’s support could prove crucial in leveling the playing field as Africa’s best gear up to face football powerhouses from around the world.
