Team Delta continues to dominate the 2024 Gateway Games, pulling further ahead in the medals table as the competition enters its final stretch(Day 8) in Ogun State.
The defending champions have so far racked up 171 medals, comprising 70 gold, 39 silver, and 62 bronze, as they push for a fourth consecutive NSF title.
In second place is Team Bayelsa with 112 medals (46 gold, 34 silver, 42 bronze), while Team Rivers follow closely with 107 medals (39 gold, 30 silver, 38 bronze).

Hosts Ogun State sit fourth with 100 medals, including 39 gold, 26 silver, and 35 bronze, just ahead of Team Edo, who have collected 158 medals in total 33 gold, 65 silver, and 60 bronze — thanks to strong showings in gymnastics and boxing.
The current top ten includes:
- Delta – 171 (70 gold)

- Rivers – 107 (39 gold)
- Ogun – 100 (39 gold)
- Edo – 158 (33 gold)
- Oyo – 26 gold
- Lagos – 18 gold
- Osun – 12 gold
- Abia – 10 gold
- Akwa Ibom – 6 gold
At the bottom of the standings, Kebbi and Jigawa have just one bronze medal each.

The Gateway Games 2024, officially the 22nd edition of the National Sports Festival, began on May 18 and will conclude on May 30, with over 11,000 athletes participating across 35 sports.
