Super Falcons midfielder Halimatu Ayinde has said the team is focused and fully prepared to face Zambia in Friday’s crunch quarterfinal match at the ongoing 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco ( WAFCON).
In an interview with journalist Ademola Victor, the experienced midfielder emphasized the team’s unity and defensive strength, while calling on Nigerians to continue believing in and praying for the squad.
“We respect Zambia, they’re a good team. But we don’t have to focus too much on them,” Ayinde said.
“We’re yet to concede in this tournament, so our structure is strong. We just have to keep building, improve on chance creation, and convert our chances. We’re ready to play and win.”
Nigeria topped their group unbeaten with seven points, while Zambia have scored six times in the competition so far, despite conceding four.

“But I’d say believe in yourself, stay focused, be consistent. Don’t let anyone shut you down or discourage you. As long as you’re pursuing your dream, you’ll get there.”
