Kelechi Iheanacho was on target for Celtic in their Europa League opener, but the Scottish champions were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw with Red Star Belgrade.
The Nigerian striker, signed on a free from Sevilla in the summer, came off the bench at half-time and struck within 10 minutes.
It was his second goal for the Hoops in just three appearances, with both strikes coming as a substitute. He also has one assist to his name as he continues to make an early impact under Brendan Rodgers.
Celtic had struggled to find rhythm in the first half at the Rajko Mitic Stadium, with Kasper Schmeichel keeping the hosts out and Daizen Maeda isolated in attack.

But Iheanacho’s introduction transformed their play, linking with Benjamin Nygren and Colby Donovan as the visitors carved out chances.
The breakthrough came in the 55th minute when Nygren drove through midfield and slipped a pass into Iheanacho, who took a touch before slotting calmly into the top corner.

However, Red Star hit back 10 minutes later. From a corner that sailed beyond Schmeichel, Tebo Uchenna returned the ball into the box and Marko Arnautovic pounced from close range to level the match.

Celtic had to withstand further pressure late on, with Liam Scales and substitute Marcelo Saracchi making key interventions as the Serbians threatened from crosses.
