Chidozie Iwundu continued his outstanding season by scoring twice to hand Rangers International a 2-1 victory over Kun Khalifat on matchday 21 of the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The centre-back opened the scoring three minutes before the interval, converting his sixth league goal of the campaign to give the eight-time champions a deserved first-half lead at the Dan Anyiam Stadium.
Kun Khalifat responded late on when James Ekebuike equalised in the 87th minute, threatening to deny Rangers only their second away win of the season.
But deep into stoppage time, Iwundu struck again in the 96th minute to seal the victory, registering his seventh league goal of the season. The brace confirms him as Rangers’ leading scorer and the NPFL’s second-highest goalscorer overall, as well as the league’s highest-scoring defender.
