The Edo State Sports Commission has announced the appointment of Emperor Jarret Tenebe as the new Chairman of Bendel Insurance Football Club, with immediate effect.

The decision comes as part of strategic efforts to strengthen the club’s management ahead of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

Emperor Tenebe replaces the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu, who was recently appointed as the Director General of the National Institute for Sports (NIS).

“This decision is in line with the broader vision and objective of His Excellency, Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo, to take Insurance FC to an enviable height,” Enabulele said.

“Bendel Insurance finished last season in fifth place, and with Emperor Tenebe’s wealth of experience in football management, we are confident he will take the club to greater heights.”
