Kano Pillars FC has confirmed that several of their supporters were involved in violent incidents after Sunday’s Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash against Shooting Stars (3SC) at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
Immediately after the final whistle, “a few misguided persons attempted to cause disorder within the stadium premises,” the club said in a statement.
They added that thanks to the swift intervention of stewards and security agencies, the situation was quickly brought under control.

“We are pleased to confirm that players of both teams and match officials all left the stadium and its vicinity unhurt and safely escorted by the security operatives,” the statement read.

Kano Pillars confirmed that many of the individuals involved in the incident were arrested and handed over to security agencies for further investigation and prosecution.
“Kano Pillars FC will fully cooperate with the authorities to ensure that any individual found culpable faces the full wrath of the law,” the club said.

The club also announced plans to impose strict sanctions on supporters identified as troublemakers, banning them from accessing the Sani Abacha Stadium for the next 10 seasons.
“The club remains committed to maintaining peace, discipline and a conducive environment for football in line with the rules of the Nigeria Premier Football League and the Nigeria Football Federation,” the statement added.
