Liverpool table swap deal including Nunez and Chiesa for Nigerian striker – Reports

Liverpool have reportedly submitted a player-plus-cash offer to Napoli for Nigerian striker, including Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa.

English Premier League champions Liverpool have reportedly stepped up their interest in Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen, tabling a player-plus-cash offer to Napoli in a bid to secure the striker’s services ahead of the 2025/26 season.

According to reports from Valter De Maggio via Sportskeeda, the Reds are offering Uruguayan forward Darwin Nunez and Italian winger Federico Chiesa as part of a deal to bring Osimhen to Anfield.

Napoli, however, are holding out for an additional €20 million on top of the players’ combined value.

Osimhen, who spent the last season on loan at Turkish champions Galatasaray, enjoyed a prolific campaign with 37 goals and 8 assists in 41 appearances, guiding the Istanbul club to a domestic double.

The 26year-old Nigerian striker had hoped to leave Napoli last summer but failed to secure a move.

His subsequent switch to Galatasaray proved a point to critics and suitors alike, reaffirming his standing among Europe’s elite finishers.

Galatasaray is eager to make the loan deal permanent, but faces stiff competition from clubs in England, including Liverpool, who are reshaping their attack under new leadership following their title-winning campaign.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has reportedly informed Liverpool that the proposed swap—Chiesa (valued at €14 million) and Nunez (€45 million) would only be considered if the Reds add €20 million in cash to the package.

That brings the total valuation of the offer to €79 million, slightly above Osimhen’s current €70 million value on Transfermarkt.

While Osimhen is a top target, Liverpool is also said to be monitoring other emerging forwards, including Hugo Ekitike and Benjamin Sesko.
