Lookman in Demand: Inter Milan plot €60m move as top clubs circle Atalanta forward

Ademola Lookman is at the centre of a €60m transfer battle as Inter Milan lead a host of European giants chasing the Atalanta forward.

Super Eagles winger, Ademola Lookman is once again dominating the summer transfer window, as Inter Milan prepare a €60 million offer for the Super Eagles forward, with Barcelona, Napoli, and Atletico Madrid also monitoring developments.

The 27-year-old enjoyed a productive 2024/25 campaign despite a turbulent season at Atalanta, one that ended with a third-place finish in Serie A and a disappointing early exit from the UEFA Champions League playoffs at the hands of Club Brugge.

Lookman was a bright spark in an Atalanta side that lacked consistency in Europe. Despite being benched in key fixtures, he managed to reach double digits in combined goals and assists once again.

Atalanta, who won the Europa League in the 2023/24 season, are now ready to cash in on one of their most valuable assets before his contract runs down further.

Inter Milan, now under the leadership of former club defender Cristian Chivu, are reportedly leading the chase.

As per Sportmediaset, the Nerazzurri have identified Lookman as the perfect fit for their new attacking strategy and are financially prepared to meet Atalanta’s valuation boosted by earnings from their Club World Cup campaign.

Chivu admires Lookman’s pace, creativity, and tireless work ethic, traits the Romanian wants to build around as he reshapes Inter’s front line.

Lookman’s availability has also drawn attention from Atletico Madrid, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the Spanish giants have held preliminary discussions with Atalanta.

Having sold Ángel Correa to Tigres UANL, Atleti are in need of a left-sided forward, and Diego Simeone is said to be keen on Lookman’s all-action style.

With Atalanta standing firm on their €60 million asking price, the next few weeks could determine the Nigerian’s future. Lookman, who has delivered 52 goals and 25 assists in 118 appearances for the Bergamo side.
