Super Eagles forward Moses Simon appears ready to take a bow from Nantes this summer as he reportedly opted not to extend his current contract, which runs until June 2026.
The 29-year-old has been a key figure at Les Canaris since joining initially on loan from Spanish outfit Levante in 2019. He has made 198 appearances for his club side in all competitions, scoring 36 goals and registering 41 assists.
His loan move was made permanent the following year for €5 million, and he has since become a fan favorite and vice-captain of the team.

Simon played a crucial role in the club’s 2022 Coupe de France victory and has been their most productive attacking player once again this season.
In Ligue 1 alone, he has recorded seven goals and nine assists, placing him joint-third in the division for assists.
Despite his consistent performances, Simon has reportedly deciding against extending his contract with the French club, amid strong interest from Premier League side Everton.
French outlet Foot Sur7 indicates that the Nigerian international is planning to move on, with Everton actively seeking his signature ahead of the summer transfer window.
Reports suggest that Everton scouts have made recent trips to France to watch Simon, and the player is said to have given the green light for a Premier League move.

Everton’s form this season hasn’t been impressive with overall 8 wins, 14 draws, and 12 losses. This performance currently places The Toffees at 15th out of 20 teams in the Premier League Table, winning 24% of matches. More reason why they desperately need to secure the Nigerian striker for next season to fill their striking void.

Nantes are believed to be seeking a fee of around €15 million, despite his €12 million valuation on Transfermarkt. A transfer to England now seems increasingly likely as Nantes prepares for life without one of their most influential players.
