Moses Simon shines as Paris FC stun Monaco to end unbeaten run

Nigeria’s Moses Simon was the match-winner as Paris FC ended AS Monaco six-match unbeaten run with a 1–0 victory at the Stade Louis II in Ligue 1.

Simon struck early in the second half, firing Maxime Lopez’s cutback into the roof of the net to give the visitors a crucial win and lift them back into the top half of the table.

The Super Eagles forward has now scored three goals and provided two assists in 11 league appearances this season, underlining his growing influence for Paris FC.

His latest strike proved decisive in a tense encounter where Monaco dominated early chances but failed to convert, with Aleksandr Golovin and Krépin Diatta both going close before the break.

The defeat saw Monaco lose ground in the title race, now trailing leaders Paris Saint-Germain by four points after 11 matches.

After Simon’s opener, Paris FC held firm against sustained pressure. Goalkeeper Kevin Trapp denied Maghnes Akliouche midway through the second half as Monaco pushed for an equaliser.

The win ended Paris FC’s three-game winless streak and marked their eighth Ligue 1 match this season decided by a single goal margin.
