Super Eagles Wing wizard Moses Simon registered his first goal for Paris FC, but it was not enough to stop a rampant Marseille side who claimed a 5-2 victory in a thrilling Ligue 1 encounter on Saturday.
Simon, making just his second league appearance since joining Paris FC this summer, was lively throughout the first half and eventually found the net early in the second.
His well-timed run onto Ilan Kebbal’s through ball was capped with a cool low finish to draw the visitors level at 2-2 in the 57th minute.
The Nigerian winger had earlier gone close when he dribbled past two defenders only to see his shot saved, and again when he missed a golden chance shortly after the restart.

His persistence, however, paid off as he broke his duck in French football with a composed strike.

Paris FC had begun the contest with confidence, but Marseille quickly imposed themselves.
Mason Greenwood converted from the penalty spot in the 18th minute following a VAR check, before providing the cross for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to double the lead six minutes later.
Kebbal’s fine finish gave Paris FC hope before half-time, and Simon’s equaliser briefly swung momentum back in their favour.
However, the game unraveled for the visitors after Simon was substituted just past the hour mark.
