Nasarawa United came from behind to beat Rangers International 2-1 in Lafia, maintaining their position at the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League ( NPFL) after match day 8.
Rangers took the lead through Wisdom Ebirim in the 19th minute, his first goal of the season. But last season’s top scorer, Anas Yusuf, levelled from the penalty spot just after the half-hour mark before John Joshua completed the comeback in the 62nd minute.
The result gives Mangut Mbwas’ Nasarawa United their fifth straight win and extends their unbeaten run to seven games.

The Solid Miners remain top with 19 points, while Rangers drop to seventh on 11.

Abia Warriors, Enyimba, and Kano Pillars feature in dramatic matchday
In Umuahia, Abia Warriors returned to winning ways after their midweek loss in Enugu, defeating El-Kanemi Warriors 2–0.
Casmir Azubuike struck twice in four minutes (24’, 28’) to hand Imama Amapakabo’s side a comfortable home win.The result moves the Warriors up to second on 15 points.
Elsewhere in Owerri, Enyimba International’s poor form continued as they suffered a 1–0 defeat to newly promoted Kun Khalifat.
The People’s Elephant played much of the match with 10 men after Henry Ndedi was sent off in first-half stoppage time.

Ebuka Nwokorie’s brilliant free kick in the 69th minute sealed Kun Khalifat’s second victory of the season and took his personal tally to four goals.
In Kano, Kano Pillars were denied victory at the death as Adams Mustapha’s stoppage-time equaliser earned Shooting Stars a 1–1 draw.

Mustapha Jibrin had earlier given Pillars the lead in the ninth minute before the late drama. Sai Masu Gida end Matchday 8 still in the relegation zone, sitting 17th with eight points.
Shooting Stars’ three-match winning run may have ended, but they remain unbeaten in four matches, moving up to fifth place on 12 points.
