Nigeria’s Super Eagles have moved up four places to 41st in the world and fifth in Africa in the latest FIFA men’s rankings released on Friday.
The rise follows back-to-back wins in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers a 2–1 victory over Lesotho in Polokwane and a 4–0 home triumph against Benin Republic in Uyo.
Those results not only boosted Nigeria’s points but also secured their place in the African playoff round, where they will face Gabon for a chance to meet either Cameroon or DR Congo in the final stage.
