Nine players join Nigeria camp as Super Eagles gear up for crucial qualifiers

Super Eagles camp in Akwa Ibom is bubbling with excitement as nine players joined the squad ahead of Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.

The new arrivals are Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Ola Aina, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Moses Simon, Chidozie Awaziem, Adebayo Adeleye, and Benjamin Frederick.

Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong was one of the early birds alongside Amas Obasogie, Felix Agu, and Bruno Onyemaechi, who landed on Monday.

Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze who last night completed a loan move from AC Milan to Fulham spoke to Fulham TV ahead of his arrival in Nigeria.

“For now I am just focused on the game. We need the two games, Rwanda and South Africa.

We have to win both to secure our World Cup ticket. Now I’ve secured this one, so I’m going to focus on getting the job done for Nigeria” he said.

Both games are pivotal in Group C, with Nigeria(7 points) currently trailing leaders South Africa with 6 points. Wins in both matches are crucial to reviving the Super Eagles World Cup qualification hopes.
