A very unfortunate event unfolded at the Kaduna centre during the NLO-NNL Playoffs, as Family Worship Center FC refused to continue their match against City FC Abuja in the 70th minute.
Coach Bunmi Haruna, Family Worship Centre FC Coach decided to discontinue the match, instructed his players to sit on the pitch and stop playing to air out their concerns over questionable officiating throughout the tournament.
Haruna expressed frustration over what he perceived as unfair treatment of teams, citing a previous match where City FC was awarded three penalties against Camp Pro FC.

The coach claimed the officiating seemed to follow a script, raising concerns about the competition’s fairness. “I may face punishment, but at least the world will know that what happened here wasn’t fair,” he said. Haruna recently led Family Worship Center FC to victory in the 2025 FCT President FA Cup title, marking a significant achievement for the team and the coach.

The match was awarded to City FC Abuja, confirming their promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL), unless the NLO management decides to review the situation and make changes.
Many fans and football observers are now calling for a closer look at how the games were handled, especially the officiating.

Haruna has also been under severe criticism for his approach into the issue. Many Nigerian football enthusiasts believed he took the laws into his hands, committed another offence in his bid to correct a perceived anomaly.

Others argue that Haruna should have presented evidences of his claims to the NLO governing body and perhaps go to Court if his demands are not satiated.
