Plateau United scored a stoppage-time penalty to earn a 2-2 draw against Bendel Insurance in their Nigeria Premier Football League clash in Benin City.
The hosts made a strong start at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium and took the lead in the 14th minute through Alex Oweilayefa, who finished calmly after sustained early pressure.
Plateau United responded before half-time, with Monday Gideon equalising four minutes before the break to leave the sides level at 1-1.
Bendel Insurance regained the advantage shortly before the hour mark when Kayode Oke converted from the penalty spot after the home side were awarded a spot-kick.
The home team appeared set to secure all three points, but Plateau United pushed forward in the closing stages in search of another equaliser.

Their persistence was rewarded deep into stoppage time when they won a penalty of their own. Vincent Temitope converted to make it 2-2 and rescue a point for the visitors.

The result leaves Bendel Insurance seventh in the Nigeria Premier Football League table with 46 points, while Plateau United sit eighth with 43 points as both teams continue their push for a strong finish to the season.
