Nasarawa Amazons, Naija Ratels, and Bayelsa Queens also secured crucial victories in their push for dominance.
NWFL Defending champions Edo Queens secured a vital 1-0 victory over Ekiti Queens in Ilorin, a result that saw them overtake Remo Stars Ladies at the top of Group A.
The only goal of the game came in the 68th minute through Rebecca Adegbemile, whose strike proved decisive in a tense encounter.
Edo Queens’ win was significant as it capitalized on Remo Stars’ setback against Nasarawa Amazons, giving the reigning champions a strong position as the competition progresses.
Nasarawa Amazons Stun Remo Stars with Late Penalty
Remo Stars Ladies, who had led Group A before this round, suffered a setback after a 1-0 defeat to Nasarawa Amazons in Lafia.
The game remained goalless until the final moments when Nasarawa’s Jenat Akekeromowei converted a stoppage-time penalty, sealing a dramatic win.

The loss saw Remo Stars drop to second place, while Nasarawa Amazons gained crucial points to strengthen their push for the NWFL playoff spot.
Naija Ratels and Bayelsa Queens Secure Convincing Wins
Naija Ratels delivered one of the most dominant performances of the round, thrashing Benue Queens 4-0 in Lafia.
Anuoluwapo Awotidoye was the standout performer, scoring a hat-trick with goals in the 28th, 50th, and 78th minutes. Obadun Azeezat added another in the 58th minute to complete the rout.
In Yenagoa, Bayelsa Queens extended their strong form with a commanding 3-0 victory over Robo Queens. Olabiyi Alaba opened the scoring in the first half, while Shakirat Moshood struck twice early in the second half to wrap up a comfortable win.
Mixed Fortunes for Other Teams in the League
Confluence Queens edged Heartland Queens 1-0 in Anyigba, with Peace Ikediuba scoring the game’s only goal from the penalty spot in the 23rd minute.
Meanwhile, Abia Angels took advantage of defensive lapses to secure a 2-0 home win over Dannaz Ladies, courtesy of a Toyibat Abdulazeez own goal and a strike from Chiamaka Ojialor.

Ibom Angels also secured a crucial three points, leaving it late to defeat Delta Queens 1-0 in Uyo. Uwah Abasiofon netted the winning goal in the 90th minute to hand her team a vital win.
Elsewhere, Rivers Angels staged an impressive comeback to defeat Adamawa Queens 2-1 in Lafia. Adamawa took the lead in the 18th minute through Nnenna Ossai, but Rivers Angels responded in the second half with an equalizer from Taiwo Afolabi before a late own goal from Temilade Oluwaseun secured the victory.
