Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu starred as Trabzonspor kicked off their Turkish Super Lig campaign with a 1-0 win over newly promoted Kocaelispor on Monday.
The Nigerian striker scored the only goal of the game with a powerful header just four minutes into the second half, showcasing why the club made his permanent signing a top priority this summer.
Joining Onuachu in the starting lineup were fellow Nigerians Anthony Nwakaeme and Kazeem Olaigbe, who both impressed with their performances.

Olaigbe, signed from Rennes, made his league debut and contributed youthful energy on the flank before being substituted after 63 minutes.

Nwakaeme was influential in midfield, providing creativity until his withdrawal late in the game.
Kocaelispor, returning to the top flight after several years, showed determination but struggled to contain Trabzonspor’s physicality and set-piece threats.
