player who snubbed Nigeria for England now begging for 2026 FIFA World Cup spot

AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori has expressed his desire to return to the England national team and earn a spot in the squad for the upcoming World Cup. The 27-year-old central defender has been out of the England setup since October 2023, but he has been working hard to regain his form and catch the eye of the Three Lions’ manager, Thomas Tuchel.

Tomori revealed that he has had direct discussions with Tuchel, who has encouraged him to keep performing well for AC Milan. “I spoke to Tuchel at the end of last season, before the international break at the end of the season, and he just said I need to keep doing what I’m doing, keep on improving, and I’m sure if Milan does well as a whole and if I do well individually, then I have a good chance of going,” Tomori said.

Every player’s dream is to play at the biggest world stage, and no competition can offer such exposure at the world stage other than the world cup. Little wonder why Fikayo Tomori is doing everything possible to be at the world cup that will be staged in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.

Tomori is focused on helping AC Milan achieve success this season, starting with their upcoming friendly match against Arsenal. “We’re already looking forward to starting the season. We have a good test against Arsenal on Wednesday. Qualifying for the Champions League is obviously somewhere that Milan has to be,” Tomori said.
