Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal have set their sights on Nigerian defender Calvin Bassey as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the next season.
The 25-year-old center-back has built a reputation as one of Africa’s premier defensive talents, recognized for his physical dominance, tactical intelligence, and composure on the ball.
Fulham defender Calvin Bassey has attracted interest from Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal who are reportedly keen on securing his services in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Bassey, who joined Fulham from Ajax Amsterdam in July 2023 for €22.5 million, has been a crucial part of the London club’s solid Premier League campaign.

So far this season, he has featured in 29 matches across all competitions and scored two goals, further proving his value to the team.
According to reports from Africafoot, Al Hilal has already initiated discussions with Bassey’s representatives regarding a potential move. The Saudi club is reportedly prepared to offer him a four-year contract with an additional one-year option.

If the deal goes through, Bassey would earn an annual salary of €8 million (₦13.27 billion).
Despite Al Hilal’s strong interest, Fulham holds a strong position in negotiations. Bassey remains under contract with the English side until June 2027, and his release clause is set at €25 million (₦41.46 billion).
It remains to be seen whether the Saudi club can convince Fulham to part ways with one of their key defensive assets.
