The FIFA Club World Cup has been a platform for top clubs across continents to battle for global supremacy since its inception.
While only a few Nigerian players have participated in this prestigious tournament, some have returned home with medals. Here are five Nigerian footballers who’ve achieved this feat
Nwankwo Obiora (Inter Milan – Winner, 2010) Obiora was part of the Inter Milan squad that won the 2010 FIFA Club World Cup. Although he didn’t feature in either match, he was an unused substitute in both the semi-final win over South Korea’s Seongnam Ilhwa and the final victory against DR Congo’s TP Mazembe.
Inter lifted the trophy under Rafael Benítez with legends like Dejan Stanković, Javier Zanetti, Diego Milito, Samuel Eto’o, and Goran Pandev scoring crucial goals.
