Moroccan heavyweights Raja Athletic Club are exploring a move for Nigerian international goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2025/26 Botola Pro season.
Nwabali, 29, currently plies his trade with Chippa United in South Africa, where he played 26 matches across all competitions in the 2024/25 campaign, including 23 league games, 2 Nedbank Cup appearances, and 1 Carling Knockout match.
Since joining Chippa in 2022, he has made 65 appearances for the club and has grown into one of the most consistent goalkeepers in the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

Raja’s management is closely monitoring his situation and is expected to make contact with Chippa United this week to assess the conditions for a potential transfer. Chippa, however, are keen to hold on to their star shot-stopper and are likely to fight to retain him.
Nwabali, who has been capped 21 times by Nigeria, gained international prominence during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where he played a key role in Nigeria’s run to the final. He is currently valued at $650,000, according to Transfermarkt.

Raja Casablanca, one of Africa’s most decorated clubs, are looking to bounce back after a disappointing 2024/25 season in which they finished 5th in the Moroccan top flight.
Under new Tunisian head coach Lassaad Jarda Chabbi, who took over in February 2025, Raja have shown signs of revival, posting 9 wins, 5 draws, and just 1 defeat in his first 15 matches.
The club, which boasts a trophy-laden history — 22 domestic titles (13 Botola, 9 Moroccan Throne Cups) and 9 continental trophies including 3 CAF Champions League crowns is now aiming to return to the summit of African football.

Nwabali could become the second Nigerian at Raja if signed, joining midfielder Moses Orkuma, who currently features for the Botola giants.
