Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle has urged his players to stay focused and united as the Super Eagles prepare for a decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Benin Republic in Uyo on Tuesday.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Chelle said his team understands the importance of the fixture and is determined to give everything to secure victory.
“We have to win this game tomorrow. We must win and nothing more,” Chelle said firmly.
“We want to go to the World Cup. I’m very happy and excited, sometimes we may be nervous, but the team is ready.”
Nigeria sit third in Group C with 14 points, behind Benin Republic (17) and South Africa (15). Only a win will keep their hopes of reaching the 2026 tournament alive.
